About Rabbi Sa’ar Khai Shaked
Rabbi Sa’ar Khai Shaked
is a dynamic community builder, thoughtful scholar, and skilled organizer whose work bridges spiritual leadership, education, and social activism. Born in Israel in 1975, he was ordained as a rabbi in Jerusalem in 2004 and moved to South Africa in 2013, where he served for decades as a congregational rabbi.
Since 2023, Rabbi Shaked has led The Almond Rod – Chaplaincy & Consultancy ,an independent project fostering vibrant Jewish life, interfaith dialogue, environmental and social justice, and inclusive spaces for growth and connection.
As a scholar, Rabbi Shaked brings depth and insight to his work, drawing from Jewish tradition while addressing 2 Column contemporary issues. A talented organizer, he has spearheaded numerous community initiatives, including peace-building projects and youth programs.
An accomplished writer and musician, Sa’ar’s creativity enriches his leadership, inspiring others to explore their spirituality and engage meaningfully with the world
About Michael Brian Lee
Michael Brian Lee is a transformational trainer, speaker, and Master of Creativity and Innovation Coaching. He has presented two TEDx talks and spoken at numerous international creativity conferences and summits including at the Global Speakers Summit in Bali. He is also certified in six other coaching disciplines including as an Executive Coach and Coach Trainer and by the International Coaching Federation.
He writes the monthly "Reimagining Creativity” column for South Africa's Mail and Guardian and regularly discusses creativity on Radio 702 and Cape Talk. He also writes for Forbes and is a member of the Forbes Coaching Council.
Michael founded the Academy of Television and Screen Arts in Johannesburg and currently teaches at AFDA’s post-grad program. He is on the Global Advisory Board for World Creativity and Innovation and the Creative Council of the BIC Foundation. With over two decades in the film and TV industry, his work has garnered five South African Film and TV Awards.
